Humanitarian Programs
One Peace at a Time
Our children’s humanitarian peace quilt program fostering philanthropic youth.Through this program students have the opportunity to both fashion a quilting square with their own creative expressions for peace in the world and to write about their thoughts while doing so. Professional quilt artists donate all of the labor to professionally transform these creations into individual quilts for children in war-torn areas abroad.
The Chicago Experience
Over 200 students at multiple Chicagoland public and private schools, ethnically diverse community centers, Girl Scout troops and refugee youth programs participated in these workshops from the Summer of 2006- the Fall of 2007.
As an entire exhibition, their quilts, along with their written prose and photographs will travel to US museums en route to their destination in Baghdad.
